This season brings back the trend of dramatic cuts, designs, shapes of outfits like that of asymmetrical hemlines, dramatic sleeves like balloon, puff, bell and other voluminous sleeve shapes, shoulder cut outs, and off shoulders.
If you are someone who’s dressing style involves playing around with amazing cuttings, hemlines and cool sleeves in your everyday wardrobe then, this is the season to invest in outfit pieces with great designs. For example: a balloon sleeved top, which is perfect for holidays & for daytime hangouts or an asymmetrical dresses which can be worn both in the evening and daytime for a dressy occasion (of course depending upon the fabric, print and other details).
Also cut- outs, peepholes, single shoulder cut outs, flashdance shoulder, sleeve slits, fold over waists are among the other popular cut trends of SS17.

1. STATEMENT SLEEVES:
This is always a high fashion and glamorous look whether they are striking dramatic sleeves long sleeves or the evergreen one-sided style.
Tops with such outstanding sleeves look great with straight leg pants or slightly flared trousers or hot pants.
Dresses with such dramatic voluminous sleeves can give a classy, vibrant & feminine look.
Statement sleeves usually look good more or less on everyone and are a great way to upgrade to a cool chic summery wardrobe.
But choose the sleeve type and style tactically by avoiding adding the volume to the part of the body that you might want to hide. For example, if you want to hide your tummy and make your waist look leaner then avoid sleeves that will add volume along your love handles (choosing bell sleeves over balloon sleeves for exmple). Even if you do, see to it that the outfit has a clinched waist.

This romantic and claasic yet edgy navy blue one sided dress teamed with the Jimmy Choo box clutch and lace up high heels just completed the evening look so beautifully for the opera night.
I totally love this off the shoulder, ruffled puff sleeves red dress with a feminine sweetheart neckline, which was just ideal for a beautiful day out in Venice.
Designers like Johannna Ortiz, Jacquemus, Roksanda, Solace London, Alexis and Lavish Alice among the others have created a buzz with their elegant and feminine statement sleeves pieces.
2. STRONG SHOULDER GAME:
Whether this is flashdance shoulder, shoulder cutouts, off shoulder or big shoulders, this is the season to go bold with shoulder cuts and pads.
This could be a great way to make shoulder bones look enhanced, but women with already broad shoulders may either go for a subtle shoulder pad, tops or dresses with shoulder cut outs or flashdance shoulder looks instead of totally off shoulder cuts.
These cuts will give you that stunning look that demands to get noticed.

The brand Self Portrait has been super popular for its artistic creation of beautiful lacey outfits.
New York based designer Caroline Constas’s creation of structural silhouttes, summery & feminine dresses, and opulent fabrics is such a big hit lately.
Brands like Balenciaga, Jacquemus, Michael Kors, Jil Sanders, Victoria Beckham went strong with the shoulder game.
3. ASYMMETRICAL HEMLINES:
Asymmetrical hemlines and handkerchief skirts & dresses are some of the must haves of this season. They give that fun, breezy, summery look – perfect for summer holidays whether its beach side or city break. One advantage of asymmetrical dresses and skirts is that it makes anyone wearing them look taller and slimmer.
For petite people, it will be better to go for dresses/skirts where the hemline ends either above calf muscles and not at the calves. It could also end at a floor length. Also anytime you want to opt for a bohemian look then this is a perfect example of it.

This was my birthday evening look in Mykonos this year. I absolutely love the fitting, comfort and feminine romantic styles of pieces from this brand, Alexis.
4. DECONSTRUCTED SHIRTING:
Deconstructed shirting portrays that casual & sporty yet chic look perfect for a day out or a laid-back summer day look for a brunch/lunch.
Depending on their cut & detailing, some of them can look very elegant when paired with denims or long/ midi pleated skirts. Off the shoulder ones can be a good way to enhance the shoulder and collar bones. A deconstructed shirtdress can look uber-cool with a pair of wedge heels or flats like espadrilles, and a summery bag.
It is surely a great summer staple as the slightly long ones can be worn as a shirt-dress and the shirt length ones can be teamed with any lowers.
